Tree Removal

In many situations tree removal is necessary. This could be due to house extensions, preparations for a pool or carport, a tree outgrowing its location, or the presence of weed species.

Many ornamental tree species introduced to gardens can spread uncontrollably, leading to unplanned tree growth. Common examples in Brisbane include Chinese Elms and Cocos Palms. While trees like Jacarandas and Camphor Laurels are considered low-level weed species, others, such as the Oleander, are noxious and toxic to humans or animals.

Tree removal should always be carried out with the expertise and safety that only a professional can provide. Depending on the specific situation, the tree may need to be climbed and dismantled. If there are fragile gardens, paving, or buildings below, the branches may need to be lowered using ropes. In some cases, if space allows, the entire tree can be felled at once. Typically, urban and suburban tree removals require a combination of these methods, relying on sound technical expertise.

Stump Solutions

There are several options for dealing with the remaining stump. It can be completely ground down and removed by our recommended contractor. Alternatively, the stump can be left as a decorative totem for placing pots or growing epiphytes, such as orchids or staghorns. You might choose to leave the stump at ground level to naturally decompose over time, or you could have a chair carved into it as a tribute to the tree that once stood, creating a unique and comfortable spot to enjoy your garden and reflect on life.

Vegetation Protection Order (VPO)

Before deciding to remove a tree on Brisbane’s Northside, it’s crucial to check if it has a Vegetation Protection Order (VPO) issued by your local council or heritage authority. This applies not only to street trees but also to those on private property. Removing a tree with a VPO can result in a substantial fine. To avoid this, simply call your local council to find out if the tree you want to remove is protected by a VPO. Alternatively, we will do these checks for you during our quoting process.
